(1) 1680/1, 25 Feb: (3a) 1680/1, 21 Feb: (1,3a) William HILLS Sr. of Hocanum within the township of Hartford wrote his will. Bequeathed a parcel of sixscore acres near the end of the T hree Mile lots abutting on Benjamin HILLS & Joseph HILLS on the west & on James CURTICE on th e south & on my land on the north, to son William HILLS, to son John HILLS, to son Joseph HIL LS, and to son Benjamin HILLS, to daughter Sarah WARD and to daughter Suzanah KILLBURN in equ al proportions.
1687/8, 3 Mar: An inventory of the estate of Widow TOUSLAND, Wethersfield, Connecticut, contain ed two lists of personal items. One includes her personal clothing, an old Bible, a variety o f kitchen utensils, two chests, and a feather bed, being "all that Joseph HILLS & his wife ga ve in" to the inventory. The other list were items given in to the inventory by Samuel CURTIS . A note attached states, "Mother TOUSLEYs Estate is in debted to me" for 14s 3d. The invento ry contains further notes by Joseph HILLS concerning amounts due from her estate. The last it em listed is one "due to said HILLS Wife as shall Apere by Abraham FFINCH his will" 23.0.4. ( 1) The amount of the last note, 23.0.4, with interest, equals that bequeathed by Abraham FINC H at Saybrook in 1667 to his then unmarried half-sister Hannah EDWARDS. Widow TOUSLAND (his mother-in-law, Dorothy (MOULTON) (FINCH) (EDWARDS) TOUSLEY) had been residing with Joseph HILLS and his wife in Wethersfield (Glastonbury) when she died. !
