West Memphis – ALINE ROCK ASHLEY,
62, of West Memphis died Sunday, Oct. 27, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She had
worked as a file clerk for a processing center of Mid-Continent. Survivors include her husband, Charles H.
Ashley of West Memphis; two sons, Charles A. Ashley of West Memphis and David
Ashley of Memphis; a daughter, Pam Ashley of Memphis; five sisters, Hazel
Harris of West Bartlett, Ill., Mary Wilson of Knox, Ind., Barbara McIntosh of
Cadiz, Ky., JoAnn Wissmann of Huntsville, Ala., and Peggy Campbell of
Simpsonville, S.C.; two brothers, Gene Rock of Mountain View and John Rock of
Carpentersville, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Ann Wright; a brother; and a
granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Roller-Swift Funeral Home at Osceola, with
the Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Bassett Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 6-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

PARKS, Mary Jean, born 21 OCT 1928 at Bassett, AR, died 25 FEB 1924 at Memphis,
TN
Five year old daughter of
J. A. Parks and Levada Carwyle, both born MS. She died of second degree burns
on 2/3 of body surface, shock, and possible cerebral embolus from falling into
a tub of hot water. She was buried at Bassett on Feb 26, 1934 by Swift &
Co. of Osceola. The informant was Charlie Brown of Osceola.
