Hi, can anyone explain to me why Michel dit Richelieu LEGER is not on
the
list of Acadian names? I know he was born in Quebec, but I see many
others
in Stephen White's books that were also born in Quebec who's lines
(surnames) are listed as Acadians later on.

I thought that if a person was in Acadia at the time of deportation
they
were then considered Acadian. If there was a cut off date to be
considered
Acadian, I would like to know what it is?

Michel dit Richelieu LEGER was married to Angelique PINET (Charles and
Marie
MARCHAND) her line is listed in Stephen White's books and later
considered
an Acadian surname. Michel and Angelique lived in Louisbourg and had
their
first son there before being deported.

Thank you and take care, BG (nee LEGER Richelieu line).
