Bettie Feist and Mr. Nicolas Kahn. The bride is the daughter of the late Marcus Feist, ESQ., and the groom is one of the most prominent merchants of the parish, also postmaster of this village. The ceremony was very impressive and conducted according to the beautiful reform ritual of the Israelites. The rabbi in delivering his address, dwelt in his happiest manner on the beauties of true love and wished them a long and prosperous life of joy and happiness. The parlors of Mrs. Feist residence, where the ceremony took place, were decorated in a most beautiful manner. From the ceiling was suspended a very large umbrella, profusely decorated with a mass of cedar and Spanish moss and from the inside was suspended a large wishbone. Handsome flower pieces of horseshoes, initials, hoops and other fancy pieces were placed in different nooks and corners of the parlors. Marshal Niel, tea and a great many other fine specimens of roses and other flowers were used and made the atmosphere as sweet as a garden. Due credit must be given to Mrs. Dr. W.P. Yerger and MMES. A.S. and W.F. Coltharp and Mrs. Cora N. McClellan for the furnishing of the beautiful flowers and to Mrs. Julia Cahn, of Vicksburg, Miss., Ruth Stein of Lake Providence, Miss., Rosa Sartorius, of Vicksburg, and Mrs. S. E. Blum, of Tallulah, for displaying such splendid taste in the decorations. After the ceremony, guests were invited to the finest wedding feast in the parish. Champagnes and other choice productions of celebrated foreign wine cellars flowed freely, amidst the offering of toasts for the welfare and happiness of the bridal couple. Dancing was indulged in by the young people to the strains of Neeley's Vicksburg orchestra. At a late hour the guests departed, wishing the bridal couple much joy, happiness and prosperity.
