All rights reserved. ************************************************ Brandy Lorraine York - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, June 19, 2006 The driver of a car that crashed into a Madison Parish patrol vehicle on Interstate 20 Saturday died Sunday at University Medical Center. Brandy York, 23, lived in Tallulah and worked in Vicksburg. York was first taken to River Region Medical Center, where she worked as a nurse, and then to the medical center in Jackson. The 2000 Toyota 4-Runner she was driving hit Madison Parish Sheriff's Deputy Wayne Stutz's sedan. The deputy had stopped traffic in one eastbound lane of I-20 just east of Richmond to wave traffic away from a car that had caught fire in the median at 7 a.m. Saturday, said Louisiana State Police. York was ejected and landed about 50 feet from her SUV, Lewis said. She was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. Sunday in Jackson. Stutz was not in his car, and there were no other injuries. From Vicksburg Post, June 20, 2006 TALLULAH - Brandy Lorraine York died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 23. A native of Newellton, Mrs. York was a resident of Tallulah. She was a telemetry technician at River Region West Campus/Promise Specialty Hospital. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Wilma Wyatt. She is survived by her husband, James M. York of Tallulah; two daughters, Hannah Claire York of Tallulah and Adele York of Vicksburg; her father, Lloyd W. Wyatt of Tallulah; her mother, Judy Carol Wyatt of Tallulah; three sisters, Tiffany Wyatt and Dulcie Gayle, both of Tallulah, and Shawna Young of Carthage, N.Y.; and grandparents, Walter Wyatt Sr., Robert Burgess and Jessie Burgess, all of Tallulah. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg with the Rev. Cletus Moak officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Garner, Jammie Wyatt, Bennett Lee, John David Butler, Jeremy Purvis and James Grady. Honorary pallbearers will be Capt. Shane Miller, Lt. Lee Williams, Pvt. Scott Johnston, Pvt. William Wienke, Pvt. James Goodwin and Pvt. Todd Black. Memorials may be made to any charity benefiting victims of Hurricane Katrina.
