Yerger Jr., Prominent Planter Dies Monday After Long Illness George Sizer Yerger, Jr. member of a prominent family, planter and business man, died Monday night in a Vicksburg Hospital where he had gone several weeks ago after a severe attack. Mr. Yerger has been confined to his home for some time, due to a heart condition. He had many e friends whom he enjoyed seeing during his confinement. He is survived by a devoted family, his wife, the former May Hutcheson of Magnolia, Ark.; a son George Sizer Yerger, III, two daughters, Mrs. Carl Andre of Jackson, Miss, and Mrs. Dan Wray of Jupiter, Fla.; two grandchildren, Sigrid Elizabeth and Ferdinand Yerger Andre of Jackson, Miss. Mr. Yerger, second of a family of six sons, was a sincere friend, a respected businessman, always good company. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Tallulah for many years member of the Fifth District Louisiana Levee Board and the Madison Parish School Board. He was a Mason. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock in Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Joseph Harrison officiating, Crothers Funeral Home conducting. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg, Miss. The family requests those wishing to may make memorial contributions to the building fund of Trinity Episcopal Church. Mr. Yerger has for many years been active in this project. His five brothers survive, Mr. Maxwell Yerger, Mr. Andrew Yerger, Mr. Edward Yerger, Mr. William Yerger and Mr. Rufus Yerger, all of Madison Parish. Active pallbearers will be his nephews, Rufus Yerger, Jr., George Havard Yerger, Dr. Joseph Yerger, Mr. Maxwell Yerger, Jr., of New Orleans, La.; Mr. William Yerger, Jr., Mr. Edward Yerger, Jr.. Mr. James Federick and Mr. Elmer Neill, Jr., Mr. Barry Mitchell of Lake Providence, La.; Mr. H. C. Sevier, Jr., Mr. Fred Hutcheson, Jr. of Magnolia, Ark.
