All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Vera Wallace Word - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 10, 2002 Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Wallace Word, 86, of Tallulah, were held Monday, April 8, 2002 in the First Baptist Church in Tallulah. Rev. John Rushing and Rev. J. Q. Williams officiated. Burial followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery at Tallulah under the direction of the Crothers Glenwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood died early Friday, April 5, 2002, in the Madison Parish Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Bradley, Arkansas and had lived in Tallulah for 62 years. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah. Survivors include: one son, Bob word of Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Dyanne Duncan and JoAnn Pittman, both of Bossier City, Louisiana. Mrs. Word also leaves nine grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Word and son, Jerry Word. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Grandville Harris, Boss Martin, Ricky Ogden, James Stroud, Gene Butler, Leslie Uzzle and Cecil Wells.
