Williamson - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal November 30, 1972 Resident dies at age 81 interred here Funeral services were held here Sunday at 3 o'clock at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Martha E. Williamson, 81, who died Saturday at a Vicksburg hospital after a short illness. Mrs. Williamson was a native of Weathersby, Miss., but had resided in Madison Parish for the past 60 years. She was a member of Willow Bayou Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Evon Purvis of Transylvania and Mrs. James Walker of Oak Grove; six sons, Estus, Chester, Carley, Cordes, Jesse and Huey Williamson, all of Madison Parish; two brothers, W. T. Varner of Eudora, Ark., and Hopson Varner of Monroe; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted by the Rev. Crawford Williams and the Rev. Paul Carter. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were C. L. Keene, Gaines Byram, Donald Wayne Arender, Dan Purvis, Charlie Purvis and Jim Brown.
