Willett, Sr. - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 7, 1949 A. H. Willett, Sr., Succumbs At Home Early Wednesday August Hoffman Willett, Sr., died Wednesday morning at approximately 5 o'clock at his home here after a lingering illness. He was 63 years of age. A native of New Orleans, he came to Madison Parish in 1935 from Alexandria, La., and was at that time, the agent here for the Sinclair Oil Company. From 1937 until the time of his death he was Supervisor of Wildlife on the Singer Reserve, south of Tallulah. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence, 716 Johnson Street, with the Rev. R. M. Maure, pastor of the St. Edwards Catholic Church, officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in the Silver Cross cemetery. Pallbearers were W. Z. Adams, C. C. Adams, W. F. Patton, Trent Palmer, H. C. Sevier, Sr., W. W. Ziegler. Honorary pallbearers included all the game wardens and close friends of the family. He is survived by his wife, nee Myra Brooks Willett, two sons, A. H. Willett, Jr., Tallulah ; Lt. Adrian M. Willett, Eglin Field, Florida ; three grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
