All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Bill Whitaker - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 12, 1975 Funeral services for Bill Whitaker, 62, Tallulah were held in the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home Friday with the Rev. Frank Shields officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery. Mr. Whitaker died Wednesday night in Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Hornersville, Mo., Mr. Whitaker had been a resident of Madison Parish for 35 years. He was an employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Audry Whitaker of Tallulah; one son, Roy T. Whitaker of Tallulah; one daughter, Mrs. Donald Summers of Vidalia; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Babi of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. R. T. Thornton of DeRidder; one brother, O. E. Whitaker of Fort Worth, Tex.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Richard Marshall, Jack Bowden, Bill Sanders, Beecher Lowery, Leroy Chambless and Ross Murphy.
