All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Burney Means Westmoreland - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 20, 1977 Burney Means Westmoreland, 71, of Tallulah died Monday, January 10 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. after a long illness. Mr. Westmoreland was a resident of Tallulah for 50 years, a retired merchant and a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Westmoreland were held January 11 in the Baptist Church with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating and burial followed in Providence Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucille Westmoreland and son, Burney Rock Westmoreland, both of Tallulah; one brother, Harrison Westmoreland of Batesville, Miss and three grandchildren, Le'Eleanor, Celeste and Stephanie Westmoreland, all of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Jerry Smith, Phillip Milazzo, Jim Brown, A. M Horton, R. P. Grimes Jr., Robert Kivett, William Thigpen, and Dr. Robert Harrop. Dr. George Martin, Dr. Warren Bell, and Dr. R. G. Ratcliff served as honorary pallbearers.
