Weems - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post June 24, 2009 TALLULAH — Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita H. Weems, age 85, of Tallulah, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at First United Methodist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Kavanaugh officiating, assisted by the Rev. Fred Fulton. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Weems died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at her residence in Tallulah after a lengthy illness. She was born in Pike County, Miss., and had lived in Tallulah for 59 years. She was a retired secretary and homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Survivors include one son, Samuel Weems and wife Janicé of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Sue Weems Fairbanks and husband Jerry of Tallulah; seven grandchildren, Donald Weems Fairbanks, Tracey Scott Weems, Susan Janine Thomas, Douglas Edwin Fairbanks, Clayton Jerrel Fairbanks, Samuel Chadwick Weems and Bradley Dawson Weems; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie Ragus of Pioneer, La., and Jean Gibson of Tallulah; and one sister-in-law, Essie Hemphill of Pioneer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracey A. Weems; one son, Donald Tracey Weems; a sister, Louise Ragus; and a brother, Vernon Hemphill. Pallbearers will be Don Fairbanks, Tracey Weems, Doug Fairbanks, Clay Fairbanks, Chad Weems, Brad Weems and Jay Thomas.
