All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Dr. George M Webb - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, October 12, 1978 The funeral of Dr. George M Webb, 66, of Tallulah, former Madison Parish coroner, was held Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Joel Treadwell officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Dr. George M. Webb died Saturday at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg, Miss. after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Transylvania, a resident of Tallulah for most of his life, a graduate of Tulane University and the LSU School of medicine and served his internship and surgery residency at Confederate Hospital in Shreveport. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Alpha Kappa medical fraternity and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater as a medical officer. Dr. Webb had practiced medicine in Tallulah for the past 30 years. He was Madison Parish coroner until recently, a charter member of the Madison Parish Port Commission, a Commander of Scott-Nicols-Voak No. 100 of the American Legion in Tallulah and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, having been on the Vestry. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Verser Webb of Tallulah; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Miller of Lake Providence, Mrs. Audly Smith of New Roads and Mrs. Paul Robinson of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. James P. Guerriero of Vicksburg, Miss. and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cliff Adams, Jim Gilfoil, Edgar Lancaster, Jr., Henry Sevier, Jr., Kirk Morley, Harvey Mounger, Robert Graves, and Field Montgomery.
