"Buck" Weaver - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 8, 1979 The funeral of H. S. "Buck" Weaver, 76, Tallulah was held Monday in the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites, under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Weaver died Sunday after a lengthy illness in Mercy Regional Hospital Center in Vicksburg, Miss. He was a native of Chattanooga, and had lived in Tallulah for many years. He was a retired state inspector, a member of the Tallulah First Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason and a shriner. He had played professional baseball with the Cotton States League in the 1920s and had played with a Monroe team prior to his coming to Tallulah. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Connie Weaver of Tallulah; and one son, George Shelby Weaver, Baton Rouge. Pallbearers included T. A. Smith, L. K. Stanford, R. E. Fowler, Johnny Stocks, Louis Tonore, Sid Johnson, Randy Horn and Billy Hodge.
