Dr. James E. Wall - Madison Parish, Louisiana

Dr. James E. Wall, son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Albert Eugene Wall, has met all of the criteria 
required and has received the blessing of being allowed to go home and live with his heavenly father 
for the rest of eternity. Dr. Wall was born on October 28, 1927 in Epps, Louisiana and died 
April 7, 2014. God has blessed the earth with one of his best for the past 86 years. He is survived 
by his wife of 64 years, Mary Alice Rogillio Wall. They have two children, son James E. Wall, Jr. 
and daughter Teresa Russ Wall Grantier. Dr. Wall leaves six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 

His paths of life carried him to the four corners of the earth. He served in World War II and Korean War. 
He was presented with many honorable awards and citations to include the United Nations medal, the 
Korean Service Award, and the very prestigious Bronze Star for Valor. He spent 30 years in 
Starkville, Mississippi, where he served as Professor and Associate Dean Emeritus of Education 
at Mississippi State University. 

Dr. Wall established the Research and Development program and was Director and Founder of the Research 
Curriculum Unit for Vocational Education. He was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and advisor to Campus 
Crusade for Christ. Dr. Wall served with Stanford University on a contract team to the Philippines for 
three years. He served with United Nations in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa for three years, where he 
was the Dean of Agriculture the University of Liberia. He was also with RCA in Jamaica, West Indies for 
three years where he set up vocational education programs for the people of Jamaica. He received his 
bachelor degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and his Master's degree from 
Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He attained his Doctor's Degree from Michigan State University. 

Dr. Wall published many books and articles. He served as International President of AVER where he went 
before the U. S. Congress in Washington, DC and was successful in requesting grants and other monies 
for the Education Department. Dr. Wall's joy in life was to travel with Missionaries in each country he 
visited. He a deacon in many of the churches they belonged to over his long life. Dr. Wall was a very 
accomplished man by all standards, but was always very quick to say none of this would have ever been possible 
if it were not for the grace of God. It was his absolute manifest that he owed all of his life and 
victories to both his wife, and most of all, to God. Poppa, as he was called by all of his family for the 
last 32 years, has left a great void as the patriarch of the Wall family, but will easily be filled 
with the love of Jesus. We will miss him. 

The celebration of Dr. Wall's life will be held at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, LA on Sat., 
April 12th. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm Central with the ceremony starting at 2:00 pm.
