Towne - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 29, 1984 Services for Wiley G. Towne were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home chapel in Tallulah with Father Bob Saul officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Towne died Sunday at Vicksburg Medical Center in Vicksburg, Miss. after a short illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Delta; a Madison Parish business man and farmer; grandson of Ezra B. Towne, founder of the Madison Jourmal in Tallulah; and a member of the Episcopal Faith. Survivors include his wife, Penny Towne of Delta; two sons, Bill Jester of Chicago, Ill., and Scott P. Towne of Delta; five daughters, Ethel Kendricks, Mittie Towne, Bonita Tilden and Cathy Polumbo, all of Vicksburg, and Tracy Towne of Tallulah; two brothers, E. B. Towne Jr. of Tallulah and William Towne of Bastrop; two sisters, Frances M. Jones of Shreveport, and Maria Louise King of Delta; and 16 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Billy Moore, Terry Roncali, Bill Yerger, George King, Edward Scurria, Calton Masters, Roy Antee and Larry Wrather.
