GEORGE. D. TOWNE DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

George D. Towne, aged 47, native of Delta, La; passed away in the city yesterday after a short illness. 
Deceased leaves his wife; one son, J. A. Towne; his father, Wyley Towne, and one brother, B. Towne.

The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this evening from Fisher's Funeral Chapel, 
Rev. J. C. Johnes officiating. Deceased was well known in Louisiana, having lived in that state for 
many years and has many friends who will regret to learn of his death. Herald, May 30.
