Vernie Lee Throneberry, 87, of North Little Rock, formerly of Star City, passed away December 14, 2020, at Baptist Springhill, North Little Rock. He was born July 27, 1933, in Tallulah, La., to the late Jeff and Eva Dean Throneberry.

Mr. Throneberry graduated from Old Main in North Little Rock where he ran track. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with BSE and minor in music. Being self-taught at the mandolin and violin he also loved to sing. He was an ordained minister through the Full Gospel Ministers and Churches International. He was a founding member, with "Moose" Kelley, of Saints in Hard Hats Outreach. He was a 32 degree Mason of Masonic Lodge #749 Mount Sinai, North Little Rock, and member of Scottish Rite. He was a Retired Pipefitter Welder/Local Union Pipefitters 155, and a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne in the Korean War. He was also a certified commercial pilot. Mr. Throneberry loved Jesus with all of his heart and mind.

Also preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy Jean Roberson Throneberry and a son, Theodore Russell Throneberry. Survivors include one daughter, Tressala Throneberry of North Little Rock.

Graveside services are Friday, December 18, 2020, at 2 p.m., at Holly Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m., to 1:30 p.m., Friday at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Online guestbook at www.griffinfuneralservice.net.
