All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Herman Thornton - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, January 8, 1981 Services for Herman Thornton were Thursday in Crothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Xxxxd McLemore officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with Masonic services. Mr. Thornton died Tuesday in his office after a sudden illness. He was a Mississippi native, a resident of Tallulah for the past 50 years, a retired millwright, a Royal Arch Mason, a past worshipful master, and a member of the Tallulah Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jo Anne Musgrove of Sibley, his mother, Letha Thornton of Tallulah; a brother, Joe Thornton of Tallulah: a sister, Mrs. Wilma Ray of Tallulah; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Leon Secrest, Otis Gunn, William Skelton, Wayne McKnight, Armon Cox, and Winfred Parker.
