Thomas - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, June 14, 1989 Funeral services for Mr. James R. Thomas, 62, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Rushing and Riley Harper officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Thomas died Monday at Madison Parish Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Dekalb, Miss. and a resident of Tallulah for the past 35 years. He was a retired truck driver; a World War II Army veteran, a member and chaplain of American Legion Post No. 100 and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Thomas of Tallulah; one son, Jimmy Thomas of Madison, Miss.; one daughter, Betty Jo Graham of Monroe; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wesley A. Speed, Joe Reynolds Sr, Wayne Neuroth, Tim Mitchell, W. C. Warren, Muriel Green, James E. Neuroth and Wayne Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers were Lamar Clack, J. C. Dillard, Bob Gaumnitz, T. A. Bishop and Harry Don Morton.
