Thomas - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, May 19, 1967 FFuneral Services Held Tuesday For C. A. Thomas Funeral services for Charles A. Thomas, 69, a retired businessman of Tallulah was held Tuesday at 10 a. m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Joseph Montalbano officiating. Burial followed in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas died of an apparent heart attack at the Holiday Capri Motel where he was employed part-time, Sunday night. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Madison Parish Hospital. He was a native of Lebanon, and had been a resident of Madison Parish for the past 35 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Legion and a veteran of World War I. Mr. Thomas had been in the shoe repair business here before his recent retirement. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mamie Thomas, Tallulah; three sons, Edward Thomas of Slidell; Gene Thomas of Minneapolis, Minn. and Dr. Mack Thomas of Houma; one brother, Nathan Thomas of Bastrop; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were E. B. Towne, Charles Bean, C. E. Hester, Louis Tonore, Wallace Luckett and Phillip S. Scurria.
