Thames died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at her home near Tallulah. She was 91. Born in Manghum, La., Mrs. Thames had lived near Madison Parish all of her life. She was a homemaker and member of Warsaw Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Thames. She is survived by two sons, Richard Thames and Robert Thames, both of Tallulah; three daughters, Barbara Averett and Ola Thames, both of Tallulah, and Maxine Thames of Coldwater, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Harper and Dennis Fontenot officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sharon Chapman, Phillip Bible, Gilbert Tonang, P.R. Chilton, Brian Schaufele and Robert Purvis.
