All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************* James Vernon Tarver - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Monroe News Star, December 23, 2010 James Vernon Tarver, age 74, of Laurel Hill, Florida, died on Monday, December 20, 2010 at his home. He was born in Monroe, LA, January 22, 1936 and attended school through his junior year in Warren, Ark. which he considered his "hometown". He graduated from Tallulah High School in 1953. He worked for 14 years at Waterways Experiment Station, U. S. Corp. of Engineers in Vicksburg, Ms. then for years in Greensboro, N. C. James had a passion for life, with a particular love for model trains and Dixieland Jazz. Some of his greatest attributes were his generosity, patience and wonderful sense of humor. He had a multitude of incredible friends from all walks of his life, and maintained a special bond with them all. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judith Kay and by two daughters, Tamara Linn Johnson, Pensacola, Fl. and Catherine McFatter, Florala, Al. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Desiree Whatley, Elise Borrell and Ava Joy Johnson and 1 great grandchild, Gerard Manuel Arriola. He is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Tarver and Lucille Brower Tarver of Tallulah, La. and his brother, William R. Tarver of Jonesboro, AR. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Sea Cemetery in Laurel Hill, Florida with Reverend Mike McVay officiating. Burial will be in the Sea Cemetery. The celebration of this event is the fulfillment of Christ's coming and the true miracle of this season, as told in KJV John 3:16. The family wishes all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
