All rights reserved. ********************************************************************************* Gene Stringer - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Many, LA Sabine Index, October 1970 Miss Gene Stringer, 78, of Natchitoches, died Oct. 24, in a local nursing home. Miss Stringer, a native of Sabine Parish, was a retired school teacher. Survivors include two brothers, J. Myers Stringer, and James J. Stringer, both of Beaumont, Tex., and a sister, Mrs. Clemmy Scarbourgh of Natchitoches. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. in the Blanchard Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. James Carter officiating. Burial was in the Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Florien. NOTE: Miss Gene Stringer taught the second grade at Tallulah Grammar School for many years.
