Services
for Dr. Jacob Wesley Storey, 60, of Tallulah, La., were held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, August 27, 1996 at Chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Lillard Bevill officiating.
Burial was at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.
Dr. Storey died Saturday, August 24, 1996 in Delhi, La.
Dr. Storey was a lifelong resident of Tallulah and was a
physician for 33 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was active in the Louisiana State Medical Society, American Medical Association,
American Academy of Family Practice. He was involved
in the Tallulah Mental Health Clinic for many years and Richland Mental Health.
Dr. Storey graduated from Tallulah High School in 1954, LSU
in 1957, and Louisiana Medical School in 1961, and internship and residency in
Lafayette, La. from 1962-1963.
Dr. Storey was preceded in death by his father, Leslie G.
Storey.
Survivors include his wife: Juanita Thibodeaux Storey of
Tallulah; two sons: John Wesley Storey and Joseph Gillian Storey both of
Tallulah; mother: Mrs. L. G. Storey of Tallulah; sister: Nancy Storey Walter and
brother-in-law, Gerald Walter, Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; one nephew; Gerald
Walter, III of Baton Rouge, two nieces: Leslie Walter Carver of Baton Rouge,
La.; and Hollie Walter Chitty of Shreveport, La.; one
great nephew; David Taylor Carver, of Baton Rouge and two great nieces; Sarah
Ashley and Rachel Storey
of Baton Rouge.
Pallbearers were Dr. David Carve, Gerald Walter III, Phillip
Thibodeaux, Gregory Thibodeaux, Jules Thibodeaux, Michael Prather Dr. Arthur Luttig, and Dr. Scott Zentner.
Honorary Pallbearers were Gerald Walter, Jr, Dr. Sam
Scurria, Dr. L. P. Neumann, Gene Cox, Gerald Tonore, James B. Thompson, III,
William R. Thompson, Bill Colligan, John Randall, and
Dt T. A. Neumann, John
Rogan, Cecil Watts, and Joe Tauzin.
