All rights reserved. ************************************************ Malcolm Clay Stone - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Post, November 6, 2004 TRANSYLVANIA — Malcolm Clay Stone died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was 80. Born in Rochelle, La., Mr. Stone was a resident of Transylvania. He served in the Navy from 1943-1946 as a machinist mate on the LST 20 in the South Pacific. He graduated from Louisiana Tech and LSU Graduate School. He was a former assistant football coach and head basketball coach at Tallulah High School and also served as supervisor of attendance, supervisor of transportation and assistant superintendent of Madison Parish Schools. He retired as a juvenile probation officer from the Department of Corrections after 10 years of service. He had been a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah for 50 years. He served as a choir member, deacon and Sunday school teacher. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Stewart Stone of Transylvania; a son, Robert Stewart Stone of Ruston, La.; a daughter, Stephanie Stone Gillentine of Osceola, Ark.; a brother, Sidney Stone of West Monroe; five grandsons; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Stewart Family Cemetery in Sailes, La., under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
