Stewart - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal April 3, 1996 Funeral services for Mr. James B. Stewart, age 81, were held Sunday, March 31, 1996, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Tallulah with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood funeral home. Visitation was from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. Mr. Stewart died Thursday, March 28, at his residence in Tallulah. He was born in Ringgold, La , and had lived in Tallulah for 53 years. He was a retired county office manager for the ASCS office. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah for many years and a charter member and secretary for 45 years of the Tallulah Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Odessa G. Stewart of Tallulah; two daughters, Joy Jackson of Tallulah and June Dowden of Lake Charles; one son, James E "Sonny" Stewart of Rapid City, S.D.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Pallbearers were Scott Sasser, Stewart Sasser, Damon Stewart, Michael Deggans, Christopher Deggans, Paul Stewart and Robert "Shorty" Jackson. Honorary pallbearers were the Tallulah Lions Club.
