Stewart - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, November 2, 1988 Funeral services for Mr. Ernest H. Stewart, 79, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Crothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Graveside and burial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stewart Cemetery in Gibsland with Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Mr. Stewart died Monday at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center following a short illness. He was a native of Lawhorn, La., had lived in Campti for the past eight years, was a lifetime resident of Tallulah and a retired farmer. Mr. Stewart was the past president of the Fifth District Levee Board and a member of the Tallulah First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vera N. Stewart of Campti ; two daughters, Jane Slater of Alexandria and Ernestine Wixson of Tallulah; 5 grandchildren and one-great grandchild.
