Spinks - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, August 5, 1976 George H. Spinks, 70, of Tallulah died Axxxday morning at Mercy Medical in Vicksburg after a lengthy illness. Funeral services for Mr. Spinks were held at 4 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ned Axxxx and Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in Providence Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mr. Spinks was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Tallulah for 61 years He was a member of the First United List Church of Tallulah and a past Treasurer of the Administrative Board of the Methodist church. He was a member of the Tallulah Masonic Lodge and the Royal Arch Masons. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vivian Spinks of Tallulah; one sister, Mrs. T. H. Martin Sr. of St. Francisville; three brothers, Andrew C. Spinks of Walker, Robert L. Spinks of Mobile, Ala. and James T. Spinks of Baton Rouge; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ted Ivey, Elzie Fowler, H.S. Weaver, Barton Sevier, Alfred Holmes and M.A. Phillips. Honorary pallbearers were members of the administrative board of the Methodist Church.
