Spells died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Madison Parish Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 75. Mr. Spells was born in Bolivar County and lived most of his life in Houston, Texas. He lived seven years in Tallulah. He was a retired riverboat dredge operator. Survivors include a number of neices and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Carlton Whitaker, Wallace Samples, Kevin Collins, Greg Collins and Donald Collins. Visitation will be from noon until 2 today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with services following. The Rev. Fred Fulton will officiate. Burial will be at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.
