Speed - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 18, 1982 Services for Mr. George G. Speed, 80, will be today at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist of Tallulah with the Rev. Rupert Xxxxx officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mr. Speed died suddenly in Tensas Parish. He was a native of Warren County, Miss. and a resident of Tallulah for many years. He was president of the Madison Parish Chamber of Commerce and the Tallulah Rotary Club. He was a member and Sunday School teacher of the First United Methodist Church and treasurer of the church for 35 years. Survivors include one son, Robert Wray Speed of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Louise Cupit of Heber Springs, Ark., and Mrs. Betty Nobles of Ruston; one brother, Marion Speed of West Point, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Lee Guider of Vicksburg and Miss Ruth Faulk of Atlanta, Ga.; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Charles Arneson, Cliff Adams, Buford White, Harvey Mounger, Warren "Buck" Robertson, D. D. Wood, John Ulmer and Wayne Harkey. Honorary pallbearers will be employees and the board of directors of Southern National Bank, the Men's Bible class and the George Speed Sunday School class of the First United Methodist Church.
