All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Virgil Smith - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal October 15, 1965 Services Held Held Wednesday For Virgil Smith Funeral services for Virgil Smith, who died in a Shreveport hospital Tuesday morning after a short illness was held Wednesday at 2 p. m. Services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hurt and Bobby Brown officiating. Burial followed in Gwin Cemetery at Mangham. Mr. Smith was a native of Mangham and veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Sara Lambert of Bastrop; Three sons, Robert C. Joyner, West Monroe, Charles H. Joyner, Vicksburg, Miss., and James L. Joyner, Coco Beach, Fla.,; two brothers, Holmes Smith of Carlsbad, N. M., and John Smith, Winnsboro, and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were R. G. Waugh, Benny Byrd, Harry Barrett, R. L. Roper, H. S. Keyes, Robert Rich, Alfred Holmes and Albert Fondren.
