Smith - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, March 22, 1984 P. J. Smith, 59, died last Wednesday at his residence after an illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in the Crothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. He was a Xxxxville native had been a Madison Parish resident for 45 years. He was a retired merchant and deputy sheriff. Survivors include a daughter, Xxxx Smith of Birmingham, Ala.; mother, Mrs. Mittie Smith of Oak Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Mobley of Oak Grove, Mrs. Frances McKay of Vicksburg, Miss.; and numerous other relatives. Pallbearers were Bobby Flanagan, R. R. Mitchell, Charles R. "B. B." Harmon Jr., James "Skip" Smith, Dan Purvis and Artie Skeldon. Honorary pallbearers were John T. Seale, Gayle Beard, Dr. Herman Kellum, Dr. Michael Davis, Henry Harrel, Fred Magee and Dr. Duane Hurt.
