All rights reserved. ************************************************ Floyd Smith - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, 1940 Floyd Smith, 68 Passes Away Early Thursday Morning Floyd Smith, 68, for nearly seventeen years a resident of Tallulah, died suddenly about five o'clock Thursday morning at his home here. Mr. Smith had suffered a heart attack about two weeks ago, and this is said to have resulted in his death. Mr. Smith was a native of Brookhaven, Miss, but moved here with his family in 1923. For a number of years he was engaged in boreing water wells in this section. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Smith; four daughters, Miss Maggie Smith, of Tallulah, Mrs. Carl Smith, of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. L. J. Lishman, of Delhi, and Mrs. Carl Smith of Tallulah; four sons, Leroy Smith, of Camp Beauregard, La., W. A. Smith and Aubrey Smith, of Tallulah, and Green Smith, of Wisner, La. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon from the Tallulah Baptist church with the Rev. Clarence Grow officiating. Interment will be in the Silver Cross cemetery.
