Smitha - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Madison Journal June 21, 1913 Death of Mr. W. B. Smitha The large circle of friends of Mr. W. B. Smitha the will regret to learn of his death which occurred at Vicksburg Sunday night. Mr. Smitha received serious injuries from a fall from his buggy about two weeks ago. Soon after the injury his physicians realized the seriousness of his hurt and hastened him to the Vicksburg Sanitarium where an operation was performed. His condition became more critical and death resulted after much suffering. Mr. Smitha has been for many years a valued salesman for Messrs. R. L. Crook and Company, of Vicksburg, and counted many friends in the River parishes. Mr. Smitha was a native of Indiana but has resided in Madison for a number of years. He leaves a wife and three daughters and three brothers who have the sympathy of many friends. Mr. Smitha was an exceptional citizen and a devoted father and husband, and it is distressing that he should have been taken by such an accident in the prime of life. The remains were interred at the Tallulah Cemetery Monday evening in the presence of a large gathering of friends.
