Annie Mae Brewer Skipper - Madison Parish, Louisiana
August 29, 1938 ~ August 1, 2020 (age 81)

From Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home Tallulah, LA August 3, 2020

A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Annie Mae Brewer Skipper, age 81, Monday, August 3, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. at Epps Cemetery in Epps, Louisiana with Rev. Henry Stone officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Louisiana.

Annie Mae was born in Eudora, Arkansas, to James and Mable Brewer. Annie and her husband, Frank, were married August 17, 1955. He was 18 years of age, and she was 16, only a few days before her 17th birthday. Frank worked at Chicago Mill in Tallulah, Louisiana, for many years, and Annie was an avid Florist at Ideal Flower Shop in Tallulah. She loved working in her yard, where she grew the most beautiful flowers. She certainly had a green thumb. She and her husband, Frank, were members of First Baptist Church of Tallulah for many years where Frank served as Deacon. When Frank was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig Disease, Annie was by his side caring for him until his death May 17, 2010. Annie’s health began to fail, and she sold her home and moved in with her daughter, Sharon and Bill Merrill.

Annie is survived by one daughter, Sharon Skipper Merrill and husband William “Bill” Merrill of Tallulah, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Blaine Lee and wife Kristal of Tallulah, Louisiana; Bennett Joe Lee of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Hannah Grace Lee Cox and husband Ben Cox of Holly Ridge, Louisiana; Quinton Merrill of Tallulah, Louisiana; and Alex Merrill of Oak Grove, Louisiana; eight great-grandchildren, Benton Lee, Barrett Lee, Bellamy Lee, Evan Jones, Allison Jones, Gracie Cox, Ariana Jones, and Aurora Jones; sisters, Peggy Still of Bastrop, Louisiana, Marsha Roblow and husband Floyd of Bossier City, Louisiana, Sammie Brewer of Rayvile, Louisiana; and brother, Daniel “Danny” Brewer and wife Judy of Rayville, Louisiana.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents, James “Bud” Brewer and Mable Brewer; sisters, Betty McWilliams of Rayville, Louisiana; and Joann Mayberry of Shreveport, Louisiana; and brother, James “Tommy” Brewer.

Annie Mae Skipper was a good Christian woman who loved God, her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving, kind, and thoughtful person who loved God and everyone. Annie, you will be missed by many.
