All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Johnny Alford Sikes - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 15, 1955 Former Resident Loses Life In Car Accident In Texas Johnny Alford Sikes, 24, was killed in an automobile accident between Houston and Baytown, Texas, Sunday. Mr. Sikes, just out of the U. S. Army after two years service, was working in Baytown as a bulldozer operator. Born in Delhi, he was reared in Madison Parish. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Delhi with the Rev. Billy Ray Snyder officiating. Burial followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Delhi, with Young's Funeral Home of Tallulah in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one son, Johnny Alfred Sikes, Jr.., Delhi; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Sikes; three sisters, Mrs. John Ogden, Mrs. Alfred Thrift of Tallulah and Mrs. Howard McCartney of Baytown, Texas; four brothers, C. E. Sikes, Delhi, Richard Sikes, Wichita, Kansas, Marshall E. Sikes, Delhi and Max K. Sikes, Tallulah.
