Shiers, 84, of Tallulah, formerly of Archibald, La., were at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Mulhearn Chapel in Rayville, La., with the Rev. Francis Vriesen and the Rev. Sam Dunaway officiating. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Shiers was preceded in death by her husband, Rebber Dayton Wilkes; a son, Elmer Shiers; two daughters, Ida Jane Shiers and Betty Carol Ellerbe; and two brothers, Elton Keene and Lennis Keene. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Womack of Tunica and Joann Free of Ferriday, La.; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Shiers and his wife, Linda J., of Louisburg, Mo., and Russell Dayton Shiers and his wife, Linda S., of Richmond, La.; two brothers, Spencer Keene of Boyd, Texas, and James E. Keene of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Meleter Pennington of Polkville, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, along with special friends, caregivers, nurses, aides and hospice workers. Judy Brooks, Dianne Collins, Jennie Collins, Janie Roddey, Cindy Mobley, John Little-John, Loretta Beasley, Pearl Carter, Annie Whittington, Phylis Cardin, Bobby Vinning, Hazel Stampley and Amanda Morris were especially kind to Mrs. Flossie. Pallbearers were Eddie Guy Shiers, Bud Shiers, Billy Gene Wright, Donald Collins, Truman Collins and Waymon Hales.
