Sherwin - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, April 18, 1985 Services for John C. Sherwin, 76, were at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah. Mr. Sherwin died Monday at Madison Parish Hospital after a long illness. A Coushatta native, Mr. Sherwin had lived in Tallulah 40 years. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, retired automobile salesman and member of First United Methodist Church in Tallulah. Survivors include his wife, Edre Sherwin of Tallulah; one son, John T. Sherwin of New Orleans; two brothers, Albert Sherwin of Tallulah and Jim Dick Sherwin of Gulfport, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Josie Wheat of Coushatta and Mrs. Sue B. Rickerson of Los Alamos, N.M.; and one grandson. Pallbearers were Ray Caldwell, Alfred Holmes, Charlie Arneson, Bobby Ezell, Carroll Crow and Charles Ladd Abrahm. Honorary pallbearers were C. E. Hester, Bobby Joe Lee, Dr. Sam Provine, Dr. L. P. Neumann and Robert Moncrief. Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Tallulah.
