All rights reserved. ************************************************ Warren Sevier - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, September 8, 1970 Warren Sevier Dies, Services At Tallulah TALLULAH - Warren Sevier, 44, died Monday at a Houston, Tex. hospital after a lengthy illness. Member of a prominent Tallulah family, Mr. Sevier had farming interests in Madison Parish and in Wayside Shopping Center and Montrose Oil Company. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and of Louisiana State University Foundation. He was a member of the Tallulah Methodist Church. He attended Northeast State College and LSU and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Betty Woodard Sevier; two sons Marshall Sevier and Michael McNeally Sevier; a daughter, Nancy Sevier; his mother, Mrs. Irene Sevier, and two brothers, Andrew Sevier Jr. and Howard Sevier. Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Tallulah Methodist Church with the Rev. Clark Bell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery. From Tallulah Madison Journal September 10, 1970 Warren J. Sevier dies after lengthy illness Warren Jordan "Dotty" Sevier, 44, passed away Monday morning, September 7th, in a Houston, Texas hospital, following a lengthy illness. "Dotty", as he was known to his many friends, was the son of Irene Jordan Sevier and the late Senator Andrew Leonard Sevier. He attended Marion Institute in Marion, Alabama, University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and later Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He was a member of the L.S.U. Foundation Board and had farming interests in Madison Parish and interests in the Wayside Shopping Center and Montrose Oil Company. He was married to the former Betty Woodard of Arcadia and a member of the Tallulah Methodist Church. He was an avid Tallulah Trojan and LSU tiger football fan and was elected honorary coach of the Tigers during the Paul Dietzel days. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Tallulah Methodist Church with The Rev. Clark Bell officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Ile is survived by his widow, Mrs. Betty Woodard Sevier, two sons, Marshall Sevier and Michael Sevier, one daughter, Nancy Sevier, his mother, Mrs. Irene J. Sevier, two brothers, Andrew L. Sevier, Jr. and Howard Sevier, all of Tallulah. Pallbearers were Joe Milton Clark. Robert Colvin Todd, Henry Clay Sevier, Jr., Wallace Luckett, Jerome K. Post, Jr., Merle Gustafson, Malcolm C. Sevier, and John W. Olvey, Jr., of Shreveport. The family requests that any memorials be made to the cancer fund.
