La.-Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Day Sevier. 77, who died early Monday, will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. William S. Spillman will officiate and burial will be in Silver Cross Cemetery here. Mrs. Sevier was the widow of the late Sheriff A. J. Sevier of Tallulah and filled the unexpired term of her husband from Jan. 1, 1942 until Jan. 1944. She was a member of the Episcopal Church and until recently was active in social and civic affairs. She was a native of Port Gibson and resided in Vicksburg until she came to Tallulah as a bride many years ago. She is survived by a son, Don Sevier: two grandchildren, Joseph Allen Nadler Jr. and Andrew Sevier Nadler of Plaquemine, La.; two nieces, Mrs. James B. Askew of Vicksburg and Mrs. William Raines of Nashville, Tenn., and other relatives. Young's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Bart Eisely, W. L. Rountree, Louis Buckner, Fred Peterkin, Henry Sevier Sr., Rod Naylor, Jim Gilfoil and Billy Bray. Honorary pallbearers are James B. Askew of Vicksburg, Horace Lee, Frank Thomas, C. E. Hester, H. C. Massey, Dr. H. S. Provine and Dr. Preston Herring of Vicksburg. From Tallulah Madison Journal, February 7, 1958 Wife Of Former Sheriff Dies Early Monday Mrs. Mary Day Sevier, beloved wife of the late Mr. Andrew Jackson Sevier, died in her sleep early Monday, February 3, at her home on North Cedar Street. She was named to the post of Sheriff, after the death of Mr. Sevier in 1942. She was born in Port Gibson, Miss in 1881, daughter of Mr. Nathaniel Day, and Mrs. Day the former Miss Pricilla Slater of South Carolina. Her father came to America from England during his early manhood. The family moved to Vicksburg during Mrs. Sevier's childhood, and she made her home there until her marriage to Mr. Sevier in 1905. Mr. Sevier was at that time Sheriff of Madison Parish. They were married in Trinity Episcopal Church; Vicks-burg, Miss. Mrs. Sevier has lived continually since her marriage at her home on North Cedar St. Until recently Mrs. Sevier was an active and devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was an active member of Trinity Auxiliary. She was a former member of Tallulah Book Club and Madison Parish Garden Club, and was well beloved by many friends who knew her as a true friend and a devoted wife and homemaker. Her daughter, Mrs. Allan Nadler, the former Miss Emma Louise Sevier, preceded her in death twelve years ago. Services were held at the home for the family and a few close friends just before the funeral at Trinity Church with the Rev. Wm. S. Spilman officiating in the service of the church and also at the graveside prayer service. Mrs. Sevier is survived by her son Mr. John Donaldson Sevier, two grandsons, Allan Nadler, Jr., and Andrew Nadler, both attending Louisiana State University; Three cousins, Joel Myres of Mayersville, Miss., Harper Myres of Glenn Allen, Miss., and Mrs. Marie Myres Martin of Newport, R. I. Two nieces, Mrs. James Askew of Vicksburg, Miss., and Mrs. Will-iam H. Raines of Nashville, Tenn., and N. J. Day of Jackson, Miss. Pallbearers were; Mr. Barton Eisley, Mr. W. L. Rountree, Mr. Louis Buckner, Mr. Fred Peterkin, Mr. Henry C. Sevier, Mr. Rodney Naylor, Mr. Jim Gilfoil, and Mr. William Bray of Monroe, La. Honorary pallbearers were James B.
