All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************** Nettie Veronica Dichiara Scurria - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal July 19, 1995 Nettie Veronica Dichiara Scurria died Friday, July 14, 1995, at her home. She was 85. Mrs. Scurria was a native of West Point, Miss., and had lived in Tallulah for 62 years. She was a housewife and a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Tallulah. She is survived by her husband, Philip S. Scurria Sr. of Tallulah; three sons, Dr. Samuel P. Scurria and Thomas A. Scurria, both of Delhi, La., and Philip S. Scurria Jr. of Tallulah; one brother, Tom Dichiara of Aberdeen, Miss.; four sisters, Sarah Dichiara and Rosa Phillips, both of Aberdeen, and Mary Cangelose and Marie B. Aly of Atlanta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Edward Catholic Church in Tallulah with the Rev Ignatius Eckelkamp officiating. Burial was at the Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in charge. The Rosary was said in the funeral chapel. Pallbearers were Dr Philip L. Scurria, Dr. Mark C. Scurria, Philip S. Scurria III, Sam J. Cangelose, Thomas A. Scurria II and Sam Thomas Phillips.
