The little boy was in swimming with several younger companions, none of whom knew how to swim. He stepped off into deep water and the other boys were unable to rescue him, although one made an attempt. They started an outcry and a passing negro in a car stopped and attempted to get the boy out, but he had been carried downstream a short distance out it and it was some few minutes before the body was found. Efforts to revive him were made but without result. Beside the grief-stricken parent, the boy is survived by four sisters and five brothers, all of whom have the sincere sympathy and the entire community. The funeral took place yesterday morning and the services were conducted by the priest from Lake Providence.
