Scurria died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center. She was 91. Miss Scurria was a resident of Tallulah and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Maria Ilardo Scurria; two sisters, Sarah S. Phillips and Annie S. Lombardo; and five brothers, Philip Scurria, Sam Scurria Jr., Vincent Scurria, Anthony Scurria and Lawrence Scurria. Survivors include a brother, Joseph Scurria of Tallulah; a sister; 15 nieces and nephews; and other relatives. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Jacob Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the church. A rosary will follow. Pallbearers will be Larry Scurria, Mark Scurria, Ken Ball, Tim O’Dowd, Bruce Weems, Tommy Wall, Charles Finlayson and Billy Ray Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Sam Scurria, Dr. Andrew Lombardo, Dr. Sandra Scurria, Dr. L.P. Neumann Jr. and Ollie Cantrell. Memorials may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church or Silver Cross Cemetery.
