Scott died at the Touro Infirmary Wednesday morning, following an operation. Mr. Scott was fifty-six years of age and was one of the active business men of the parish. He was President of the Tallulah State Bank; was one of the largest planters in the parish, and was generally regarded as one of its most successful businessmen, having been at all times enthusiastic in the support of such enterprises as were of public benefit. He was devoted to his family and state, was kind to all and loyal to his friends. For a number of years Mr. Scott was President of the Police jury of this parish and it was during his administration that progressive measures were inaugurated to improve the public utilities of the parish. His faith in the future of the parish was an example to his less sanguine neighbors and friends and was one of the traits, that stamped him as a most useful and substantial citizen. Mr. Scott leaves a wife, who was Miss Vinyard Kefauver before marriage, two sons, Dr. Warren F. Scott and Walter M. Scott and a daughter, Mrs. Arwin Bondurant. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. V. D. Skipper, at the Tallulah Cemetery Thursday morning. The remains were accompanied to the last resting place by friends and relatives from several adjoining parishes. The grave was covered with most beautiful floral offerings-the last tribute of a host of loving friends.
