All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Sam Scott - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post, July 16, 1942 MOUNDS RESIDENT TO BE BURIED AT TALLULAH TODAY Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Silver Cross cemetery in Tallulah for Sam Scott, a planter of the Mounds community, who died last night at his home. The Rev. Clarence Crow, pastor of the Tallulah Baptist church, will officiate. The pallbearers will be John Tice, Elijah Turnage, Jesse Aaron, H. L. Goins, Thad Travis and Willie Aaron. The Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. Mr. Scott was 63, and had been in ill health for about two years. At one time he was employed in Warren county. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Tower of Mounds, and Mrs. Mittie Wilson of Vicksburg; and four sons, John Scott and Herbert Scott, both of Mounds, Sam Scott, Jr., of Vicksburg, and Earl Scott in the United States army.
