All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Michael Wayne Scott - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Vicksburg Evening Post February 12, 1951 LOUISIANA TOT KILLED BY CAR ON HIGHWAY 80 Michael Wayne Scott, 3, Victim Of Sunday Tragedy Michael Wayne Scott, three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott of Mound, La., was killed instantly Sunday afternoon when he stepped into the path of a car on Highway 80. He was rushed to Mercy Hospital here but he was dead upon arrival. According to reports given Capt. D. B. Moorhead of the Vicksburg Police Department who helped relatives get the little victim to the hospital, the child ran into the path of a car driven by I. P. Albright of Haynesville, La. He and other members of the family had driven in the car of an uncle, Hilton Freeman, to the home of a relative in Mound. Parking on the opposite side of busy Highway 80, they had alighted and were standing at the edge of the pavement in front of the Freeman auto, waiting for a break in the traffic. The child apparently thought the road was clear. He stepped directly into the path of the Albright auto, they said. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and. Mrs. John Scott; his grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Freeman of Tallulah; three brothers, John S. Scott, Jr., William Paul Scott, and George Wendell Scott, all of Mound; six sisters, Mrs. Alma Rollins, of Coleman, Tex.; Mrs. Helen Breedlove of Mound; Mrs. Dave Moore of Tallulah; Marian Scott, Opal Scott, and Ann Scott all of Mound. Funeral services are incomplete. Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah being in charge of arrangements.
