All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Matta Fuqua Scott - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 17, 1980 Services for Mrs. Matta Fuqua Scott were at 4 p.m. Friday in Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Craig Morgan officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park in Tallulah under the of Crothers Funeral Home of Tallulah. Mrs. Scott died Thursday in Mercy Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was a native of Baton Rouge, a resident of Tallulah for 65 years and was the daughter of the Louisiana Gov. Henry L. Fuqua. She was a member of the second graduating class at Louisiana State University, a charter member of the Kappa Delta Sorority at LSU, a former member of the Board of Trustees at LSU and a member of the Tallulah Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include a brother, Henry L. Fuqua Jr. of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Walter M. Scott III, Mrs. Susan Scott Bernard and Joseph K. Scott, all of Tallulah; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Herbert B. Day, M. A. Phillips, Collins Thomas, Judge C. C. Adams, Malcom Cagnolatti Sr., E. H. Lancaster, Jr., R. C. Todd and Harvey T. younger.
