All rights reserved. ************************************************************************************************ Lucille Reid Yerger Schicker - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal, July 18, 1985 Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Reid Yerger Schicker, 90, were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tallulah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Randy Clayton officiating. Burial was in Silver Cross Cemetery under direction of Crothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Schicker was born July 15, 1895 in Cincinnati, Ohio. A resident of Tallulah, she was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church. She moved to Tallulah in 1914 from Memphis, Tenn. In 1915 she married John Edward Yerger, who died in 1927. The couple had three children. She was appointed Clerk of Court in Madison Parish in 1927 to fill the unexpired term of her late husband. In 1932 she was married to E. B. Schicker of Little Rock, Ark. Active in civic and church activities, Mrs. Schicker was a member of Good Earth Garden Club, D.A.R., past president Ladies Auxiliary of Tallulah Country Club, past president of Tallulah Book Club and Music Club and a member of Library Board. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Yerger May of Tallulah and Mrs. Jessie Yerger Kirkwood of Gatlinburg, Tenn. She had one son, the late John Edward Yerger, Jr. She is also survived by four grandchildren Mrs. Kay Pringle of Biloxi, Miss., Dr. Thomas Wade Kirkwood of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Linda Kirkwood Smith of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Ms. Carolyn Kirkwood of Santa Ana, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney Smith of Mt. Vernon, Andrew Kirkwood Smith of Mt. Vernon and Stefanie Kirkwood of Denver. Pallbearers were C. Calvin Adams, Henry C. Sevier, John Simpson, Carroll Crow, Skip McKinney and Glenn Booth. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Tallulah Presbyterian Church.
