Satchfield - Madison Parish, Louisiana From Tallulah Madison Journal June 12, 1994 Services for Norvel T. Satchfield were held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 10, at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Carl Barnes officiating. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Satchfield died Tuesday, June 7, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 82. He was born in Cleveland, Miss., and had lived in Madison Parish for the past 45 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 100, the Louisiana Sheriffs Association and the Commanders Club. He retired as a cotton gin operator, and was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Satchfield of Thomastown; three sons, Edward Emmett Satchfield of Vicksburg, Norvel Wardell Satchfield Dayton, Texas, and Samuel Maxwell Satchfield of Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Billy Overstreet of Greenville, Miss.; two sisters, Ruth Pearl Collins of Laurel, Miss., and Nell O. Bryant of Greenville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Norvel Mize, Buddy Green, Steven Satchfield, Edward Rowe, S. M. Mize, Ricky Hays and Paul Taylor.
